Rational Cog officially began in early 2012, with the purchase of a floor model letterpress and some space to use it. Unofficially though, it started ten years prior with some late nights at a small print shop in Illinois where a friend and printer showed me the ropes on some presses he had restored.
Months of searching for and collecting equipment and supplies, a lot of help from friends moving ridiculously heavy machinery, and endless support from my wife throughout have finally led to a functioning operation.
I mostly print for my own ends, but I'd love to collaborate with you to get your designs in print as well. Let me know if I can help you put ink to paper.
